As the founder of WebPinata, I've always been incredibly passionate about the software I've worked on, emotionally invested some may even call it.
While full-time employment for most felt like a burden, I had a flame that would burn brightly for the projects I touched throughout my career.
What I've found though, is that the burden for others in full-time employment was a weight to fight and carry with me.
I founded this company on those findings and the concept that whatever I work on and touch I want to make whole and carry it's flame for as long as I'm working on it.
In 2019 I pursued a role with Arrow Electronics with their trade compliance team for the creation of a system that would use 26 pre-existing systems, and combine their data flows together.
I worked as an applications architect and workhorse on that project. It was one of the first highly successful roles I held where I was accountable for designing and implementing what I had planned.
This company has grown from that contract with a sense of freedom, ingenuity, integrity, and the desire to not be shackled down all day working on software that was considered of minimal value.
That's why when we work, we bring everything to the table and play for keeps. Work and especially engineering is an extension of the human soul at play finding meaning in its existence.
Why bother doing something, if you're only going to half-ass it anyway.
